Relapse of Bladder Cancer

71 years old Malay male was referred for an upper and lower abdominal scans due to macroscopic hematuria for a month. He was diagnosed with bladder carcinoma in 2003 and had undergo surgery to remove the mass followed with 6 cycles of chemotherapy. He had a relapse of bladder carcinoma 9 month later and another surgery and 6 cycles of chemotherapy were performed.

A heterogenous, hyperechoic, hypervascular mass was noted pertaining to the lateral wall of the bladder measuring 2.81cm x 3.97cm x 1.1cm (top 2 images). This is consistent with relapse of bladder cancer. A small amount of pleural effusion also noted on the right side (bottom image).
