Gross prostatic calcification

24 years old male patient presented with dysuria. Urine test was done and the result showed urinary tract infection. The patient was on medication for it but the pain still persists. He denied previous history of tuberculosis, prostatitis or urethritis. He lives in a long house in Sibu, Sarawak.
Prostate volume was 33.8ml and gross and massive calcification were noted. The prostate echotexture was heterogenous. The median sulcus is preserved.
These findings are consistent with benign prostatomegaly. The presence of gross calcification and communal living raise the possibility of tuberculous aetiology.
