Hydronephrosis in pregnancy

This is an ultrasound image of a kidney in a G1P0 29 week gestation. The renal pelvis of her right kidney is dilated. It is quite common to see hydronephrosis in pregnancy. This is due to hyperdynamic circulation and often the right kidney is affected more than the left kidney, if not bilateral. No further action needed.
