Physiological variant: Bowel uptake

Focal physiologic bowel activity is most commonly seen in the caecal region but can appear elsewhere.
Benign pathologic focal bowel activity may be due to
Gastroesophageal reflux
Gastritis
Diverticulitis
Inflammatory bowel disease
Abscess
Hiatus hernia
In unsure whether pathology or physiological, do delayed scan of 1-2 beds in the region of interest. Pathology will remain but physiological will disappear or degrade.
