I have blood in my urine!

61 year old man presented with urinary difficulties and haematuria. These are his ultrasound images.

Image 2: left ureter

Image 3: Bladder

Ultrasound images showed a large mass occupying almost the entire urinary bladder with associated hydroureter and hydronephrosis. The tumour had caused long standing obstruction at the vesicoureteric junction leading to hydroureter and subsequently hydronephrosis.

Bladder cancer is a common urologic cancer that has the highest recurrence rate of any malignancy. The most common type is transitional cell carcinoma. Other types include squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinomas. The most common symptom is painless gross hematuria.
